As mathematics is fundamental to university education, the department provides service courses to all university departments in addition to its research activities. The active research areas within the department include Applied Mathematics, Fractal Geometry, Fractal Analysis, Topology, and Analysis. Given the advancements in information technology, the Department of Mathematics places special emphasis on computing, particularly programming. The department was established in 1993 and is located at the Yunus Emre Campus. With Law No. 7141, published in the Official Gazette No. 30425 dated May 18, 2018, it was affiliated with the Graduate School of the newly founded Eskişehir Technical University. 18 professors, 7 associate professors, 4 assistant professors, 1 instructor and 5 assistants are currently employed in the Mathematics Department. The program aims not only to cover all the theoretical and practical aspects of the potential fields of study but to provide students with the opportunity to specialise in any area of mathematics in order to be equipped with research skills as well.
