  • Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of prior learning is one of the main qualities of the Turkish education system. Candidates placed in higher education institutions by the Centre for Measurement, Selection and Placement (ÖSYM) are enrolled with a high school degree.

Students who are just enrolled in the University can be exempt from Foreign Language Preparatory School and some compulsory courses if they attend and successfully pass the foreign language proficiency test conducted by School of Foreign Languages and proficiency exam conducted by the University in the beginning of the academic year.

Candidates who graduated from the associate degree programs with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM can be placed in the undergraduate programs which are the continuation of their graduate programs again by ÖSYM. The equivalent courses’ grades of the candidates who will be admitted to the undergraduate programs through the vertical transfer will be transferred to their transcript and issued in their GPA and the courses to be taken are determined according to the credits of these courses.

Within the scope of the regulation on “Credit Transfer of transition between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Sub-Branch and Inter-Corporate”; In accordance with the principles determined by the Senate, lateral transfer students are accepted with the score of central placement exam conducted by OSYM, inter-institutional transfer from other higher education institutions to the equivalent programs of the University, in-house transfer to the equivalent level programs of the university. In accordance with the same principles, students can register for double major and minor programs if they meet the required conditions.

It is also stated in the Diploma Supplement Part 6.1 that the student participated in the mobility program and completed the process successfully.
