Weeks Topics
Week - 1 Sound transmission and noise control. Airborne and structure-borne sound transmission.
Week - 2 Mass Law in sound transmission on single, double or multiple layered building components. Calculation methods.
Week - 3 Sound insulation of floors. Precautions against airborne and structure-borned noise.
Week - 4 Basic knowledge for vibration sources in the buildings and related precautions. Indirect transmission paths of noise. Precautions against indirect transmission.
Week - 5 Propagation of noise at outdoor environment.
Week - 6 Noise barriers in noise control. Noise barriers peculiarities. Acoustical design of barriers. Calculation techniques.
Week - 7 Practices on determination of the noise barriers’ effectiveness.
Week - 8 Barrier application in an environment effected by traffic noise and presentations related to the precautions at the building envelope against noise
Week - 9 Introducing the computer software used in urban and building acoustics simulations.
Week - 10 Practice for noise mapping and evaluation of an existing residential area.
Week - 11 Practice for noise mapping and evaluation of an existing residential area.
Week - 12 Determination of the precautions for noise control in buildings by computer software.
Week - 13 Determination of the precautions for noise control in buildings by the aid of computer software.
Week - 14 Presentations on the determination of the precautions for noise insulation at the building envelope and inner building partitions by computer simulations.
