Profile of the Programme

Department of Interdisciplinary Movement and Training has started education as of 2020 within Eskişehir Technical University Graduate Education Institute. While movement is one of the most important foundations of human life, the concept of training is one of the most basic processes of the performance development of individuals who do sports, as well as sports have an important place in every person's life in terms of protecting people's physical, mental and mental health and thus improving their quality of life and athletic performance. Doctorate program in the Department of Interdisciplinary Movement and Training; In addition to coaching training, exercise physiology, physical fitness, physical activity, it also concerns sports biochemistry, sports and health sciences, which include physics, statistics, biology and chemistry.
The number of postgraduate programs covering the field of Movement and Training Sciences is increasing day by day. This increase is not only in terms of quantity, but also reflects on the quality of the content of the programs, taking into account the developments in coaching training and today's needs. Developments and opportunities created the need for specialization at the graduate level. This graduate program, which aims to meet this need, aims to meet the expert staff shortage both private and public sector need. Due to these and similar reasons, it is thought that an Interdisciplinary Movement and Training Sciences master's program with thesis is needed, which includes graduates of the undergraduate programs that are related to each other. 1 Professor Doctor, 5 Associate Professors and 3 Doctor Lecturers work in the department. Common study areas of the department; Participate in high-quality, rigorous research on the sport of interest, increase knowledge on concepts, theories and practices related to the sport, learn knowledge base and analytical skills to evaluate and influence programs, policies, issues and environmental / organizational structures in applied movement and training sciences To increase the ability to apply and disseminate new knowledge and methods to colleagues, practitioners, policy makers / analysts and other professionals in applied sports sciences, gaining in-depth education, knowledge and research experience through the interdisciplinary approach of the Program and also through its partnerships. This program aims to encompass all practical and theoretical aspects of the field of study and aims to enable students to develop a broad and in-depth perspective on sports sciences in order to become experts in any field of movement and training science, conduct research and disseminate research results.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Depending on the degrees awarded, theoretical or practical courses taken as part of a degree (completed or not completed) may lead to recognition of these as prior learning by the programme administration. The students who have taken courses in another institution in Turkey or abroad can ask for credit and grade transfer. The executive boards of relevant programme will decide on the courses to be transferred covering students' entire academic program once and for all with the condition that the request for transfer be made within the first week of the academic year, the requests cannot be repeated.

A student with an MA/MS degree is required to successfully complete a minimum of 7 courses, not less than 52,5 ECTS credits on the other hand student without an MA/MS degree enrolling in the doctorate programs is required to successfully complete a minimum of 14 courses not less than 105 ECTS credits. Both groups of students are required take the required Field Specialization course, pass the qualifying exam, have an accepted dissertation proposal and successfully compete doctorate dissertation work with a minimum of 60 ECTS credits, have a minimum GPA of 3.00/4.00 and no letter grades lower than CC and no YT, DZ grades.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

The Interdisciplinary Movement and Training Sciences doctorate Program aims at scientific specialization that deals with different subjects within the field of Movement and Training Sciences, especially in accordance with the interdisciplinary character of health sciences, engineering and science. In order for the candidates who want to participate in the graduate program, especially knowing that the source of many diseases from obesity to diabetes is also caused by sedentary life today, in order to do the right movement elements, developing biomechanical study areas by creating a working environment in cooperation with engineering fields, on the other hand, biology and chemistry under the natural sciences. It is also very important in terms of health studies in the field of biochemistry and biochemistry. In addition, with its performance aspect, it is in a structure that can be involved in interdisciplinary work with elite athletes and sports teams in top leagues. With the interdisciplinary working environment, it provides the opportunity to produce, design, manage and evaluate and measure the individual, social, cultural, health and economic effects of the contents they produce, taking into account the theoretical foundations and interdisciplinary approach. With its interdisciplinary feature, the Movement and Training Sciences doctorate Program provides the opportunity to privatize the undergraduate graduation and Master of sciende degree studies as a new field of study, and supports the preparation of related science fields both in terms of social health and professional elite athletes on an academic and sectoral basis. In this context, apart from sports sciences, graduates who have received undergraduate education in health sciences, science and engineering sciences will make a difference by customizing their professional and academic skills in professional life, and the qualified and versatile gains that graduates gain from the program will be in the field of sports in public institutions, as well as in private federations and professional / professional / will be able to work in amateur sports clubs.
