Profile of the Programme

The sports management doctorate program is aimed at candidates who have received their bachelor's degree in sports management and business administration, who are pursuing an academic career or working in various sports organizations. This program is an interdisciplinary field that includes concepts, strategies and approaches related to general business administration, as well as sports management, sports marketing, sports law and sports economics. The main purpose of the program is based on providing students with the necessary information on theoretical and applied issues in order to gain competitive power in organizations. This program aims to cover current and applied issues related to sports management. The program is designed to identify and solve sports management problems and to provide students with a conceptual and applied understanding of sports management. The courses given within the scope of the program provide students with a strong foundation and also provide a perspective on practice. In addition to the updated theoretical information during the courses, students both establish their theoretical infrastructure and strengthen their perspectives on practice with the case studies and research projects they conduct. The program includes courses, qualifications, thesis proposals and thesis periods. After students submit their theses to the institute, they must defend their work orally in front of a jury. The doctoral program lasts approximately four years. In line with the program, students go through a comprehensive education process in the field they want to specialize in through elective courses.
