Profile of the Programme

Transportation, being one of the most vital elements of economic and social life, interacts with various factors at both national and urban scales. Recent global developments in social and economic fields have highlighted the desire for a more comfortable and secure life, as well as the efficient use of time. The significance of railway transportation, characterized by safety and speed, has been increasingly recognized in our country in recent years due to its crucial role in the national economy and industrialization. The rapid global evolution of railway transport, along with new applications in electrification and signaling, has heightened the importance of ensuring safe railway traffic management, which has become more complex than in previous years. Training track personnel, who undertake critical duties in railway transportation, through modern methods has become a primary necessity for the sector. Furthermore, recent advancements in metro operations have reinforced the importance of training a qualified workforce for these fields. The Rail Systems Track Program, established within the Transportation Vocational School, aims to train highly responsible and technically skilled personnel for the railway sector. Within the framework of a protocol signed between our University and the TCDD General Directorate, it is envisaged that the TCDD General Directorate will provide support for this education in every aspect.
