Profile of the Programme

Physics is one of the fundamental sciences, alongside Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and interacts with various other scientific disciplines. The Department of Physics program consists of five scientific disciplines: Atomic and Molecular Physics, Mathematical Physics, General Physics, Solid-State Physics, and High-Energy and Plasma Physics. The course content offered within the Department is designed to cover advanced physics knowledge and the research conducted across these five fields. The program’s research laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art scientific research instruments, supported by projects from Eskişehir Technical University, TÜBİTAK, and other national and international institutions. This program aims to train physicists and future scientists who have mastered scientific thinking, adopted the principle of analyzing and solving problems that may arise in their professional lives, and possess the qualifications and fundamental knowledge to adapt to and contribute to science and technology. Equipped with the knowledge and skills to accurately interpret physics, conduct research and development work, and master modern analytical techniques from both theoretical and practical perspectives, graduates are also aware of the importance of staying up-to-date, modern, and well-informed throughout their lives by utilizing the information retrieval techniques they have learned. Graduates of this program can pursue careers as researchers in their fields, work in research and development laboratories at various institutions and organizations, or serve in modern analysis and quality control laboratories. Additionally, provided they obtain the necessary educational qualifications, they can provide valuable and productive service in educational institutions.
