While Physical education and sports sciences in the world continued to progress rapidly, the importance given to sports in our country became more evident in recent years.In order to support, qualified trained manpower in the field of physical education and sports sciences on the date of 24th July 2013 Anadolu University Faculty of Sports Science was established. Our Faculty is continuing education and training activities in four different sections: Coaching education department Department of physical education and sports teacher Recreation department Department of Sports management The Faculty aim to train physical educationand sports teachers, coaches, recreation experts and sports managers through the country who will contribute to the development of sport in the concept of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary nature of sports sciences, who is equipped in terms of professional knowledge and skills, who follows the scientific and technological developments and applies these developments in the practice. Faculty have within computer labs (2 each, total of 60 computers), reading room (library), many sports saloons according to standards (multi purposes sports hall - basketball, handball, volleyball, artistic gym hall, rhythmic gymnastics hall, badminton hall, table tennis lounge, folk dances and wrestling hall, fencing hall, massage room, conditioning - fitness - hall, squash hall), athletics indoor tartan ground pitches, outdoor athletics course according to IAAF standards, standard grass football field. All these facilities are offered to our students. Faculty of Sports Science includes sports hall which was put into service in February 2011, with the capacity of 5,000 people. Inside of the hall there are 750 m2 fitness centers, saunas and the doping control room. Many classrooms with projection and linked to the internet, seminar rooms and conference rooms are used to conduct of educational activities, In our faculty there are three laboratories to evaluate sporting performance. Human Performance Laboratory (where the speed, strength - isokinetic strength, static and dynamic strength, endurance - lactate measurement, determination of maximum oxygen consumption, anaerobic power and capacity measurement, body composition - somatotype determination, match and motion analysis applications are made) Motion and motor control laboratory (where the electromyography (EMG) and elektroensefalogrofi (EEG) uses with muscle / brain activation, kinetic - kinematic assessment, feedback training applications, postural sway and force applied to the ground measurement applications are made) Exercise and oxidative stress laboratory (where the applications are made to evaluate increased free radical production, oxidative damage and antioxidant defense system as a result of different types of exercise - aerobic, anaerobic). The labs are offered to the usage of our students at various stages of education and they make a valuable contribution to the student to create employment.
