  • Will be able to describe the fundamental concepts in chemistry. Classifies matter based on its basic properties. Identifies the base and derived units. Applies dimension analysis by using conversion factors. Determines the number significant figures.
  • Will be able to explain structure of atom and its theory. Describes the laws of conservation of mass, constant composition and multiple proportions. Defines element, isotope and ion. Describes properties of periodic table. Explains the mole concept and applies in calculations.
  • Will be able to classify chemical compounds and write down their formulas. Classifies chemical compounds. Calculates molar and mass compositions of compounds. Determines empirical and molecular formulas of compounds. Names inorganic and organic compounds.
  • Will be able to calculate problems related with chemical reactions. Describes different types of chemical reactions.
