  • The student plans the research process related to their chosen thesis topic in the field of civil engineering.
  • The student conducts a national and international literature review related to their thesis topic.
  • By evaluating studies in the literature, the researcher defines the research problem.
  • The student prepares for the purpose, scope, and methodology of their thesis.
  • Identifies the data, methods, and tools necessary for the thesis study.
  • Collects the necessary data relating to one of the following fields: construction, building management, building materials, transportation, mechanics, geotechnical or hydraulics.
  • This determines the standard, regulation, experimental method, analytical tool, or modeling approach to be used in the thesis study.
  • It prepares for theoretical, numerical, experimental and/or field-based research.
  • The student conducts and completes their thesis work under the supervision of an advisor.
