  • Plans the original research process related to the determined doctoral thesis topic in the field of civil engineering.
  • Comprehensively and critically reviews the national and international literature related to the doctoral thesis topic.
  • Identifies the original research problem by evaluating current developments in the literature, research gaps, and scientific debates.
  • Establishes the objective, scope, hypothesis, and research method of the thesis study based on scientific foundations.
  • Identifies the advanced data, methods, and research tools required for the doctoral thesis study.
  • "Collects advanced data, standards, methods, and technical information related to one of the fields of structures, construction management, construction materials, transportation, mechanics, geotechnics, or hydraulics.
