  • Plans the research process relating to the thesis topic identified in the field of civil engineering.
  • Conducts a review of the national and international literature relevant to the thesis topic.
  • Defines the research problem by reviewing the existing literature.
  • Carries out preliminary preparations regarding the aim, scope and methodology of the thesis.
  • Identifies the data, methods and tools required for the thesis.
  • Collects the necessary data relating to one of the following fields: construction, construction management, building materials, transport, mechanics, geotechnics or hydraulics
  • Specifies the standards, regulations, test methods, analytical tools or modelling approaches to be used in the thesis.
  • Makes the necessary preparations for theoretical, numerical, experimental and/or field-based work.
  • Carries out and completes their thesis under the supervision of their supervisor.
  • Designs, sets up and operates experimental setups, collects experimental data and interprets the results.
