Week - 1 Introduction to textile fibres and a brief history of textile materials
Week - 2 Overview of the Turkish Textile and Apparel Sectors. Classification of textile fibres.
Week - 3 Chemical properties and abbreviations of textile fibres.
Week - 4 Classification of natural fibres. Main physical and chemical properties.
Week - 5 Classification of the natural fibres. History of the cotton.
Week - 6 Cotton production in the World and Turkey. Cotton cultivation
Week - 7 Cotton ginning. Investigation of basic properties and usage of cotton fibre.
Week - 8 Cotton and the environment. Innovations in cotton.
Week - 9 Kapok fibre. Production of bast fibres. Linen fibre and its basic properties.
Week - 10 Hemp, Jute, Rami and Sisal fibres. Basic properties and applications of these fibres.
Week - 11 General characteristics of animal fibres. Basic properties and applications of wool fibre.
Week - 12 Animal fibres apart from wool and silk. Properties and applications of these fibres.
Week - 13 The history of silk fibre, basic properties and end use.
