Week - 1 Introduction. Classification of fabrics.
Week - 2 Introduction to weaving and woven fabric types. History of weaving.
Week - 3 Components of the woven fabrics: weft and warp.
Week - 4 Weaving preparation. Basic weaves: plain, twill and satin.
Week - 5 Basic weaves: plain, twill and satin. Weaving machines and formation of weave structures on the loom.
Week - 6 Representation of weaves on point paper.
Week - 7 Weaving practice in the lab.
Week - 8 Weaving practice in the lab.
Week - 9 Derivatives of plain and twill weaves. Derivatives of sateen weave.
Week - 10 Introduction to jacquard loom. Woven fabric design.
Week - 11 Colour weaving, colour and weave effects, practical demonstrations.
