Week - 1 Ceramic powders: Definitions, properties, requirements; ceramic raw materials: common raw material, special inorganic chemicals
Week - 2 Ceramic characterization: specifications, particle size, surface area, pore structure, density.
Week - 3 Grinding: Grinding equipment and their performances; granulation: spray drying, powder packing.
Week - 4 Surface energy: Laplace and Kelvin equations, parameters controlling surface energy, Wetting, solid-solid, solid-liquid and solid-gas interfaces
Week - 5 Additional procesese: Liquids, surfactants, deflocculants and coagulants
Week - 6 Additional proceseses: liquids, wetting agents, deflocculants and coagulants
Week - 7 Colloids: Classification, stability of collodial suspensions; Importance of Interfaces; Charget Interfaces and Electric Double Layer; DLVO Theory
Week - 8 Deflocculation of clays; Rheological properties and Measurements;
Week - 9 Shaping Methods: Dry and Isostatic pressing,
Week - 10 Shaping Methods: Slip casting, additive manufacturing, plastic shaping and others
