Week - 1 Basic information about sound, lot of noise, noise control issues in architecture
Week - 2 An overview of the concepts of sound and noise. The effects of noise (physiological, psychological and performance effects)
Week - 3 Sources of noise. Classification of outside and inside noise sources affected the building
Week - 4 The basic principles of noise control. Overview of environmental noise control. Examples of planning for noise control.
Week - 5 Noise control of an overview of the national and international standards and regulations. Acceptable noise levels inside and outside of the building
Week - 6 Physical events occurred by sound. Air-borned and structure-borned sounds
Week - 7 Sound propagation. Distinctions between outdoors and indoors propagation.
Week - 8 The sound source types. Decreases with distance from the source.
Week - 9 Sound reflection. Relationship between reflection and noise control. Sound absorption. Relationship between absorption and noise control.
Week - 10 Accounts for the calculation of the effectiveness of the control of noise absorbing materials
Week - 11 Paper presentation on research into sound absorbing materials.
Week - 12 Sound transmission and noise control. Calculation methods. Studies of acoustical comfort on noise control in the buildings.
Week - 13 Paper presentation on the noise assessment of existing buildings
Week - 14 Building acoustics computer programs and sample applications.
