Week - 1 Introduction - Statically determinate structures vs. statically indeterminate structures -Force method vs. displacement method of structural analysis - Discretization of structures; consepts of degrees of freedom and kinematic indeterminancy - Fundemantal assumptions
Week - 2 - Calculation of structural deformations using energy methods
Week - 3 - Analysis of statically indeterminate structures with the force method
Week - 4 Slope deflection method - Derivation of slope-deflection equations
Week - 5 Slope deflection method - Application of slope deflection method for the structural analysis of continuous beams
Week - 6 Slope deflection method - Application of slope deflection method for the structural analysis of support settlement problems and hinged structures.
Week - 7 Slope deflection method - Structural analysis of sway and non-sway frames.
Week - 8 Moment distribution method - Basic concepts; relative member stiffness, distribution factors and carry-over factors - Modified member stiffness and carry-over factor for a member with one end hinged
Week - 9 Moment distribution method - Application to the analysis of continuous beams - Application to the structural analysis of framed structures
Week - 10 Matrix displacement method (Stiffness method) - Fundamental principles of the displacement method of structural analysis - Analysis of indeterminate structures by displacement method
