Weeks Topics
Week - 1 EN: What is swimming? Information about general rules and equipment used in swimming pools.
Week - 2 Students are classified in the pool according to their swimming levels and begin acclimatization exercises in the water.
Week - 3 Sitting by the pool, begin freestyle leg exercises, eye opening and breathing exercises underwater.
Week - 4 Underwater exercises to simulate buoyancy, freestyle leg kicks, and repetition of breathing and eye-opening exercises.
Week - 5 Transitioning to exercises in staying afloat and moving through the water with free kicks using auxiliary equipment (5m-10m-15m).
Week - 6 Students combine free footwork with support materials (footboard, pool buoy) with front and side breathing exercises and eye-opening exercises to perform coordination drills.
Week - 7 Basic exercises are performed at the poolside and in the water to teach free arm technique. Free leg movements, breathing, eye opening, and gliding exercises in the water are repeated.
Week - 8 Freestyle distance swimming exercises with or without a footboard, staying afloat, eye opening, breathing exercises, and coordination drills are repeated.
Week - 9 The training includes poolside and underwater instruction of the breaststroke kick technique, reinforcement of the breaststroke kick technique using a footboard, and exercises focusing on breath-arm-leg coordination.
Week - 10 This course includes technical and theoretical instruction on various dives used in lifeguarding, as well as practice dives such as headfirst, chest dive, and scissor dives.
Week - 11 Exercises are performed to retrieve objects from the water, to stay afloat, to practice life-saving dives, and to swim long distances.
Week - 12 Techniques for approaching a casualty with their head above the water, moving them to the side, and removing them from the pool are explained theoretically and demonstrated practically. Students repeat these techniques through practice.
Week - 13 Techniques such as diving into the water (headfirst, dive, chest-scissors), approaching the victim other than the head, carrying the victim to the side, and removing them from the pool are practiced repeatedly.
