Week - 1 Defining the general framework of the thesis topic and the research problem
Week - 2 Defining the aim, scope and limitations of the research problem
Week - 3 A review of the national and international literature on the thesis topic
Week - 4 A review, evaluation and summary of the studies in the literature
Week - 5 Identifying the research gap and the original contribution based on a literature review
Week - 6 Determining the methods, data, standards, and experimental/numerical tools to be used in the thesis
Week - 7 Detailing the research methodology under the supervision of the supervisor
Week - 8 Carrying out preparatory work for theoretical, numerical, experimental and/or fieldwork
Week - 9 Application of the specified method to the thesis problem
Week - 10 Analysis and evaluation of the preliminary findings
Week - 11 Interpretation of research findings and the development of alternative solutions/interpretations
Week - 12 Compiling the thesis into a report
Week - 13 Reviewing and revising the thesis report, and checking that it complies with academic writing conventions
