Profile of the Programme

Logistics has been more important with constantly increasing challenge manufacturers face in competing with others. The lack of effectiveness in the projection of demand, stock management, delivery, transportation, and storage results in organizations' failure in manufacturing, marketing, sales and post-sales. Logistics management aims to reach a high level of customer satisfaction by developing the services provided, decrease the costs by the using the sources and investments efficiently, and create a competitive advantage in the sector.

Logistics Department in Anadolu University Vocational School of Transportation trains employees needed in the sectors where logistics is part of the business. In the Logistics Program, the students are given a two-year training by the experts in the sector and instructors in the field.

To contribute to sectoral, economic and social development by training individuals who are professionally equipped, responsible, open to development and respect ethical values by using education and training methodologies at international standards with academic staff who adopt an institutional culture focused on research, learning and knowledge production.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Depending on the degrees awarded, theoretical or practical courses taken as part of a degree (completed or not completed) may lead to recognition of these as prior learning by the programme administration. The students who have taken courses in another institution in Turkey or abroad can ask for credit and grade transfer. The executive boards of relevant programme will decide on the courses to be transferred covering students' entire academic program once and for all with the condition that the request for transfer be made within the first week of the academic year, the requests cannot be repeated.

A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 120 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, DZ or YZ grades.

Access to Further Studies

May apply to bachelor's programmes in related fields of study provided that the student obtains sufficient score in the Vertical Transfer Examination administired by the Student Selection Centre or may apply to bachelor's degree completion programmes in related fields of study in Distance Education System.

Graduation Requirements

Students have to take 120 credits and get the general avarage of 2.00 in order to graduate.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduate students can find jobs in organizations of both logistics service receivers and logistics service providers in departments of logistics and transport operations, sales and marketing departments, warehousing and inventory fields.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the programme, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. Letter grades and their associated coefficients are as follows;
There is trio system including formal (written) test, practical courses and internship.
