1. They will be able to assimilate approaches to pollution prevention and environmentally effective engineering, and gain insight into how waste can be managed before it is generated.

2. In order to minimize waste generation in an industrial facility, processes can be evaluated using a pollution prevention approach.
3. A company will be able to evaluate the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method for industrial waste.
By the end of the semester, a student will have (at a minimum) grasped general approaches related to pollution prevention, LCA methodology, carbon footprint, and eco-labeling, and will be able to develop a holistic environmental quality plan using these approaches.
