Weeks Topics
Week - 1 Introduction, sharing information about the course content and explaining the list of required materials. Occupational health and safety.
Week - 2 EN: Simple hand sewing exercises (straight stitch, running stitch, backstitch, zigzag stitch, slip stitch, Christo stitch, hand machine stitching, Z stitch, corner work, single and double buttonhole stitching, sewing two-hole, four-hole and button-covered buttons, serging, button and snap fastener sewing).
Week - 3 Introduction to the straight industrial machine, practising the exercises given on paper on the machine without thread
Week - 4 Practising machine exercises with thread by adding fabric to the exercise papers drawn on paper
Week - 5 Continuous stitching work
Week - 6 Explanation and practical work on the overlock machine
Week - 7 Completion of in-class work for mid-term exam preparation
Week - 8 Preparing for bag production, cutting (Pockets, English stitching and lining work)
Week - 9 Bag production (Pockets, English stitching and lining work)
Week - 10 Skirt cutting (Hidden pockets, elasticated waistband work)
Week - 11 Sewing a flared skirt (hidden pocket, elasticated waistband work)
Week - 12 Cutting a straight pencil skirt (zip, lining, waistband work)
Week - 13 Sewing a straight narrow skirt (zip, lining, waistband work)
Week - 14 Sewing a straight narrow skirt (zip, lining, waistband work)
