Week - 1 Systems undergoing vibrations, importance of vibration. Basic components of vibration systems (spring, mass, damping elements). Problem classification
Week - 2 Fundamentals of vibration. Degree of freedom. Equation of motion
Week - 3 Free vibration of undamped single degree of freedom systems
Week - 4 Free vibration of damped single degree of freedom system. (Underdamped response, overdamped response, critically damped response)
Week - 5 Forced vibration of single degree of freedom system
Week - 6 Single degree of freedom systems; Free vibration with coulomb damping, free vibration with hysteretic damping.
Week - 7 Problems of single degree of freedom system
Week - 8 Introduction to MDOF (multi degree of freedom) systems. Free vibration of two degree of freedom systems
Week - 9 Problems of two degree of freedom system
Week - 10 Forced vibration of two degree of freedom systems.
Week - 11 Determination of natural frequencies and mode shapes.
Week - 12 Determination of natural frequencies and mode shapes.
