| Mode of Delivery |
The course is conducted as a hands-on laboratory practice. Students perform experiments related to the topics covered in the “Waves and Optics” course through group work. They interpret the results obtained from experimental data in accordance with physical principles. The process includes pre-experiment preparation, setting up the experimental apparatus, taking measurements, error analysis, graph plotting, and preparing laboratory reports. |
| Prerequisites |
There are no compulsory prerequisites or corequisites for this course. However, it is recommended that students have basic knowledge of mechanics, waves, optics, and laboratory safety in order to carry out the experiments more effectively. |
| Courses Recomended |
n order for students to benefit more effectively from this course, it is recommended that they have previously taken FIZ231- Waves and Optics or be taking this course concurrently. |
| Required or Recommended Resources |
Waves and Optics Laboratory Manual |
| Recommended Reading List |
There is no compulsory reading list for this course. Students are advised to use the Waves and Optics Laboratory Manual and the supplementary resources recommended within the scope of the course in order to prepare for the experiments. |
| Assessment methods and criteria |
Assessment is based on one assignment, one laboratory practice, and a final written examination held at the end of the semester. The assignment aims to evaluate students’ pre-experiment preparation and theoretical knowledge related to the subject. The laboratory practice assesses students’ ability to carry out experimental procedures, obtain data and observations, perform data calculations, and interpret the results. The final examination evaluates the knowledge, skills, and experimental assessment competencies acquired throughout the course. |
| Work Placement |
There is no compulsory internship requirement within the scope of this course. |
