Profile of the Programme

Usage of computers at homes and in offices has rapidly spread due to recent impressive  developments in IT technologies. Computer Technology and Programming are fields related to computer use, software development (for PC, network and the Internet), hardware maintenance and the setting up and maintenance of computer networks. Students are trained to be qualified computer technicians specialized in both theory and application

Recognition of Prior Learning

Depending on the degrees awarded, theoretical or practical courses taken as part of a degree (completed or not completed) may lead to recognition of these as prior learning by the programme administration. The students who have taken courses in another institution in Turkey or abroad can ask for credit and grade transfer. The executive boards of relevant programme will decide on the courses to be transferred covering students' entire academic program once and for all with the condition that the request for transfer be made within the first week of the academic year, the requests cannot be repeated.

A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 120 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, DZ or YZ grades.

Access to Further Studies

May apply to bachelor's programmes in related fields of study provided that the student obtains sufficient score in the Vertical Transfer Examination administired by the Student Selection Centre or may apply to bachelor's degree completion programmes in related fields of study in Distance Education System.

Graduation Requirements

A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 120 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, DZ or YZ grades.
Student graduates as he/she fulfils the compulsory internship which is 30 days long and successfully completes 120 ECTS / ECTS credits.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of the Computer Programming Program, in accordance with the qualifications gained, are employed in the computer sector, technical services and enterprices.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the programme, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. Letter grades and their associated coefficients are as follows;
The success of students are evaluated with various assessments during semester and by final exam. Semester assessments are determined by the instructor. Assessments are usually two midterm and a final exam but may also include quizzes, homework, laboratory assignments, projects and presentations. Contrubution shares of all the different exams and assignments to the final grade are determined and announced by the instructor at the very beginning of the semester. A majority of the exams are writen drills.70% of attendance to lectures is mandatory. Students whose attendance is less than 70% fail, get a grade of DZ and are not allowed to take the final exam of the failed course. Questions on the exams are based on the skills and learning outcomes designed for each course.The success of students are evaluated with numerical and corresponding letter grades below. It is up to instructor to decide on the letter grades corresponding the numerical ones.
