Week - 1 Exhaust: Constructional features and principles of operation; Convergent, divergent and variable area nozzles.
Week - 2 Exhaust: Engine noise reduction; Thrust reversers.
Week - 3 Exhaust: Engine noise reduction; Thrust reversers.
Week - 4 Power Augmentation Systems: Operation and applications; Water injection, water methanol.
Week - 5 Power Augmentation Systems: Afterburner systems.
Week - 6 Power Augmentation Systems: Afterburner systems.
Week - 7 Powerplant Installation: Configuration of firewalls, cowlings, acoustic panels, engine mounts.
Week - 8 Powerplant Installation: anti-vibration mounts, hoses, pipes, feeders, connectors, wiring looms, control cables and rods, lifting points and drains.
Week - 9 Fire Protection Systems: Operation of detection systems.
Week - 10 Fire Protection Systems: Operation of detection systems.
Week - 11 Fire Protection Systems: Operation of extinguishing systems.
Week - 12 Engine Monitoring and Ground Operation: Procedures for starting and ground run-up, Interpretation of engine power output and parameters; Trend (including oil analysis, vibration and boroscope) monitoring.
Week - 13 Engine Monitoring and Ground Operation: Inspection of engine and components to criteria, tolerances and data specified by engine manufacturer; Compressor washing/cleaning.
