Content

Weeks Topics
Week - 1 Introduction to the course. Introduction to digital visualization. Discussion of digital modeling principles. Introduction to the software to be used.
Week - 2 Introduction to the interface of a three-dimensional modeling program. Creating lines in the three-dimensional plane using curve, line, and polyline commands. Shaping lines using control points.
Week - 3 Object capture and modeling assistance tools (grid snap, ortho, osnap, smarttrack, planar, gumball, record history, filter). Principles of using layers. Principles of precise modeling using the coordinate system.
Week - 4 Commands for drawing basic geometric shapes (circle, arc, polygon, fillet, blend). Use of moving, copying, and merging tools (copy, rotate, mirror, join, gumball, trim, split, offset, scale).
Week - 5 Drawing lines on an image by combining images (background bitmap). Creating three views using lines. Tiling with the Array command.
Week - 6 Modeling with solids (box, sphere, cylinder, tube, cone, tcone, ellipsoid, torus, pipe). Creating three-dimensional objects with the extrude command (extrudecrv, extrude srf, cap). Creating forms by combining solids with Boolean operations (booleanunion, booleandifference, booleanintersection).
Week - 7 Solid Modeling Applications and Form Development with Mixed Commands
Week - 8 Introduction to surface. Basic surface creation commands (extract surface, rebuild, boolean difference, curve boolean, revolve, pipe).
Week - 9 Surface creation commands (surface, polysurface, sweep1, sweep2, loft, patch, surface 3-4 points).
Week - 10 Introduction to complex surfaces (network of curves). Applications of creating surfaces with curves.
Week - 11 Applications of giving material wall thickness (shell, offset surface).
Week - 12 Fillet edge principles. Applications for achieving realistic edge and corner appearances.
Week - 13 Embossing and indentation applications.
Week - 14 Dimensioning and sectioning techniques.
