Profile of the Programme

This programme intends to include all kinds of practical and theoretical aspects of the field of study and it aims to train students in Integrated Air Transportation Pilot Training that is necessary to become a co-pilot in multi-pilot and multi-engine commercial air transportation and to obtain the CPL (A)IR, so that they can pursue a career as a pilot-in-command or co-pilot of an aeroplane engaged in operations other than commercial air transportation. The graduates work at Turkish Airlines, private airline companies, air-taxi companies, and at flight training schools.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Depending on the degrees awarded, theoretical or practical courses taken as part of a degree (completed or not completed) may lead to recognition of these as prior learning by the programme administration. The students who have taken courses in another institution in Turkey or abroad can ask for credit and grade transfer. The executive boards of relevant programme will decide on the courses to be transferred covering students' entire academic program once and for all with the condition that the request for transfer be made within the first week of the academic year, the requests cannot be repeated.
This program requires compulsory Intensive English Language Training. The students are exempt from the Compulsory program if they have score of 70 or above from the centralized exemption exam, or present at least 65 from KPDS/ÜDS, 60 from IBT,140 CBT, 460 PBT TOEFL or 5,5 from IELTS.

A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, DZ or YZ grades.

Access to Further Studies

May apply to master's or doctorate programmes in any field or proficiency in fine arts programmes

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the programme, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. Letter grades and their associated coefficients are as follows;
It’s based on Eskişehir Technical Univesity, Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics Flight Training Department education and examination regulation.At the first stage, examined minimum one mid-term and final. Exam made in writting. However, if it necessary; board of directors can decide to make verbal or pratical exam. Exam’s dates are determined and announced at least 15 days before that term’s exams by the board of directory.The final exam of a two-semester lesson is done at the end of the year. The success of a student is determined by evoluating both the final exam grade and midterm exam grades. The midterm grades, including at least one of the midterm grades, consist of the assigments, practical studies and practises.Practical flight lessons examinations are performed in aeroplane and Simulator practically.Interval flight controls are performed in appropriate days in order of meteorological and technical conditions.Type of evaluating midterm and final with percantage of general culture, basic aviation, and ground lessons before flight are pronounced to school directory at the first two weeks of the term by teaching staff.Contributions of midterm’s results to the succes score can not be less than 0, more than `. The last evaluating is determined by using following letter grades by teaching staffs, considering score of students who are responsiable to lesson.Success grade / coefficient AA / 4,0AB / 3,7 BA / 3,3 BB / 3,0 BC / 2,7CB / 2,3CC / 2,0 CD / 1,7DC / 1,3 DD / 1,0 FF / 0,0In addition DZ(discontinious), evaluation of uncoefficient and not to join grade points with letters of YT (sufficient), YZ (insufficient), EK (incomplete), MU (exempt), KL (removed) and DV (ongoing) can be done.1)YT (sufficient) and YZ (insufficient) grades, is used in lessons, which is not approved to consider as overall, by committe of school and senote’s decision, to indicate success.2) Student, who is succesfull in this lessons, her sufficient (YT) grade, who is not succesfull has insufficient grades (YZ).EK(absent)mark will be given,illness or other available reason, student who haven’t complete his lesson’s requirements on time. Students who takes that mark, must complete deficiencies on time ( determined by academic staff, before next term’s starting date). In this given period of time, new mark will be given a student who completed his deficiencies.Student who hasn’t completed the missing parts the EK grade will be converted into FF or YZ grade related on which letter grades is being sed fort hat lecture.The EK grade, will be shown in the lecture success testimonial until a new grade will be given instead of it. From that time on will now be shown.Exempt remark (MU) in lessons which are stated by decision of college council and senate, are gived to students who are successful in exempting exam.Removed remark(KL) is gived to students for removed lessons which the students are not responsibly.DV(permanent)mark is given to the students who are ongoing to lessons at the end of the term in which, over time lessons haven’t been completed yet. DZ (impermanent) mark is given to the students who don’t come to lessons properly.The student who is successful in a lesson must get YT, DD or over this Marks in this lesson.ÇK (withdraw) is used for the lesson that is permitted with advisor’s approval in three weeks after the add-delete week.To graduated from his department,a student has to have GPS at least 2.00 and every lecture mark that the student has, must be enough and fort he first turn at least DD, fort he second and third turns at least CC.
