Profile of the Programme

<span rgb(61,="" 61,="" 61);="" font-family:="" tahoma,="" verdana,="" sans-serif;="" line-height:="" 16px;="" text-align:="" justify;="" background-color:="" rgb(206,="" 206,="" 206);="" "="">Transportation both in local and countrywide scale is important and has complex relationships with various factors. The recent changes in daily life generated a demand for time, comfort, safety and economy. The role of railway transportation in industrial and economic growth is well understood. The new concepts in signalling and traffic administration made it easier to manage complex networks of railways. Railway has a greater role in transportation. The need of skilled labour in electrics and electronics is a growing demand. The construction of subways also generated a demand in skilled technicians. The purpose of the programme is to train technicians highly skilled and equipped with technical information and appliances in the industry. TCDD and Anadolu University signed a protocol, which TCDD equipment is supplied and professionals are holding lectures.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Depending on the degrees awarded, theoretical or practical courses taken as part of a degree (completed or not completed) may lead to recognition of these as prior learning by the programme administration. The students who have taken courses in another institution in Turkey or abroad can ask for credit and grade transfer. The executive boards of relevant programme will decide on the courses to be transferred covering students' entire academic program once and for all with the condition that the request for transfer be made within the first week of the academic year, the requests cannot be repeated.

A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 120 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, DZ or YZ grades.

Access to Further Studies

May apply to bachelor's programmes in related fields of study provided that the student obtains sufficient score in the Vertical Transfer Examination administired by the Student Selection Centre or may apply to bachelor's degree completion programmes in related fields of study in Distance Education System.

Graduation Requirements

A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 120 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, DZ or YZ grades.
Student graduates as he/she fullfils the compulsory internship which is 30 days long and successfully completes 120 ECTS / ECTS credits course.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Students graduated from Railroad Electric and Electronics program,accordingto thequalifications they havegained, are employed in organizations and establishmentsin railway sector such as TCDD, Tülomsaş, Estram, Burulaş, İzmir Metro A.Ş.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the programme, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. Letter grades and their associated coefficients are as follows;
The success of students are evaluated with various assessments during semester and by final exam. Semester assesments are determined by the instructor. Assesments are usually two midterm and a final exams but may also include quizzes, homeworks, laboratory assigments, projects and presentations. Grades are determined by allocating exams and assignments contributions which shares of all are determined by instructor and announced at the very beginning of semester. All exams are writen drills.Attendance to lectures are mandatory and a strudent must attend lectures at least for 70%. Students whom attendance is less than 70% fail, get a grade of DZ and are not allowed to take the final exam of the failed course.Exams for the courses are based on the Students will be asked exam questions that of course depends on the skills and learning outcomes.Success of students are evaluated with numerical and corresponding letter grades. It is up to instructor to decide corresponding letter grades for numerical ones.
