Profile of the Programme

This program aims to train Industrial Engineers who can solve industrial engineering problems using scientific methods with a system approach, analyze, design and improve production, service and socio-economic systems, create a career plan for business life, can renew himself/herself with the consciousness of life-long learning, carry out academic studies to produce universal knowledge. This program includes all theoretical and practical approaches of the field and aims to provide students with necessary skills for analyzing and evaluating systems for production through analysis and experimental methods, supply chain, and quality and human-machine. It also provides opportunities for students to a gain system approach to increase the effectiveness and productivity of integrated systems including design, planning, control, human resources, equipment and energy.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Depending on the degrees awarded, theoretical or practical courses taken as part of a degree (completed or not completed) may lead to recognition of these as prior learning by the programme administration. The students who have taken courses in another institution in Turkey or abroad can ask for credit and grade transfer. The executive boards of relevant programme will decide on the courses to be transferred covering students' entire academic program once and for all with the condition that the request for transfer be made within the first week of the academic year, the requests cannot be repeated.
This program requires compulsory Intensive English Language Training. The students are exempt from the Compulsory program if they have score of 70 or above from the centralized exemption exam, or present at least 65 from KPDS/ÜDS, 60 from IBT,140 CBT, 460 PBT TOEFL or 5,5 from IELTS.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, DZ or YZ grades.
It is required that students should succesfully complete 30% of 240 ECTS of designated program.

Access to Further Studies

May apply to master's or doctorate programmes in any field or proficiency in fine arts programmes

Graduation Requirements

A total of at least 240 ECTS must be taken.At least 8 professional elective courses (32,5 ECTS) must be taken.At least 2 elective courses (7,5 ECTS) must be taken.At least 1 YÖK electivecourse(2 ECTS)must be taken.Industrial Engineering Practice-I must be made for an internship of at least 20working days, Industrial Engineering Practice-II should be made fo ran internship of at least 25 working days.GPA must be minimum of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, DZ or YZ grades

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the programme, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. Letter grades and their associated coefficients are as follows;
The students' success at the taken courses are assessed by a various evaluations throughout the semester followed by a final exam. The evaluating semester activities are determined by the instructor. These activities can consist of at least two midterms, quizzes, homework, laboratory performances, projects, and presentations, in general. The contributions of these activities to the final grade of the courses are determined by the instructor and it is assigned at the beginning of the semester. Exams are generally written exams.At least 70% attendance is mandatory for the courses. Students, who fall below 70% attendance of any course, cannot attend the final exam of that course and get DZ letter grade, failure to lack of attendance. The students, who take DZ from any of course, must register to that course again at the following semesters.The exams' questions depend on the learning outcomes and subordinate skills of the related courses.
