Profile of the Programme

Chemistry is an interdisciplinary field of science that is strongly interrelated with the basic sciences of biology, physics, and pharmaceutical chemistry and interacts with technology with different application areas of polymeric materials, catalysis, organic and inorganic synthesis. Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry are the four major branches of the department. The courses offered in the Chemistry program especially emphasize the fundamentals of Chemistry and then advanced Chemistry considering all these major subjects. The department of Chemistry was established in 1993 and is located at the Yunus Emre Campus. It was affiliated to Eskişehir Technical University related to the 7141 related Law published in the Official Gazette, found on May 18, 2018, and 30425. In the department, 13 professors, 8 Associate Professors, 4 Dr. Lecturer, 1 Res. Assist. Dr., 4 Res. Assist.  and 1 technician are on duty. The department's research laboratories, with the support of the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkiye (TUBITAK) and Scientific Research Project (BAP), are equipped with all necessary research equipment and facilities to do scientific research. Our graduates can work as scientific researchers, and research decisions related to the department are made by the department's academic board, which is composed of faculty members of the department or only chairs of divisions. One department head and two deputy department heads oversee the department's technical activities, while the other helps the department head with the department's academic activities.

Mission

Our mission as the Department of Chemistry is to conduct comprehensive research covering the science and structure of chemistry. Graduates are those who act in accordance with scientific and ethical values, whose systems can use modern devices, and whose systems are completed with up-to-date knowledge and laboratory skills.

Vision

As the Department of Chemistry, our vision is to be one of the first Chemistry Departments to be licensed, technological and social, and to provide education, training, research, and consultancy services at international standards.
